Jade: CD Design

My CD will include a single disc with an 8 page booklet, the case being constructed from cardboard. The CD will be a compilation of rock/alternative music of about 18 songs. I've decided to call my CD "The Bucket", a name inspired by a rock song I like. I plan to relate the images of the design to a bucket in some way. My design will have a vintage feel and will have have alot of inspiration from 1950's children's book illustrations- so I'll be hand rendering the images myself, and possibly doing some further editing in photoshop. I want the over all look of my design to have a vintage, worn look, but the illustrations themselves to have more of a modern twist.

CD Design: Gemma

For my CD design project I have decided to focus the genre on a compilation of hip hop and rnb type music.
My CD case will be a cardboard based object with graphics, both vector images and photos, printed onto each section of the design. The graphics used will portray an 'urban' type of feel which hopefully will capture the essence of the music on the disc.
The album will be a two disc set with the eight page booklet placed inside the package.

ROGAN : GCHC

GCHC

My Intention is produce the packaging for a cd compilation of artists from the Gold Coast Hardcore music scene.  The compilation will be named GCHC for obvious reasons.  My initial idea is take an illustrative approach, comparative to the work of artists such as Pushead and Derek Riggs.  The artwork will be influenced by tattoo and comic book artwork.  A strong font will be used for a logo to accompany the artwork.   A possible option is to use Old English typeface in bold.  As far as colour goes, I think I will keep it minimal, primarily black and white, perhaps with a splash of red.  I am thinking of doing either a fold out poster or cd booklet to insert in the packaging, but haven’t given much though as yet to what I will go with.
